The Role

FT Strategies is the FT’s boutique consultancy – leveraging the FT’s expertise to help clients grow their digital revenue and optimise customer engagement. We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to join this high growth start-up within the Financial Times.

You will be joining a fast-paced and dynamic work environment as we scale our consulting business. You will be central to that growth, shaping how it succeeds.

You will drive our mission, helping global clients develop digital strategies that transform both their businesses and the customer experience.

The Role

FT Strategies (FTS) run a number of programmes in partnership with the Google News Initiative (GNI) to help publishers develop sustainable reader revenue driven businesses. Your role in this will be to assist with the project management of these programmes in order to facilitate the delivery of consulting engagements. This is initially a 6-month internship, with possibility to turn it into a permanent role if successful.

Degree qualification or previous experience is not required for the role – we are looking for able candidates who are passionate about building a career in Project Management, from a range of backgrounds. Study support could be available for the right candidate (PRINCE2, Agile, APM/PMI).

Key responsibilities

The Project Management Intern will:

  • Work with the Programme Manager to deliver successful completion of programmes through building content that will be useful for the publishers and communicating updates/changes/processes to the programme attendees
  • Manage the tech and logistical requirements associated with delivery of GNI partner project
  • Produce and organise programme files so they are clear and accessible for the people who need access to them
  • Liaise with internal FT/FTS and external subject matter experts (SMEs) in order to involve them in content and events, being mindful of their time and ensuring adequate briefing notes are shared in advance
  • Act as a key point of contact with publishers throughout the engagement, ensuring all participants have access to required support and resources
  • Conduct screening interviews with publishers participating in the programmes to ensure the consulting sessions are relevant, specific and informative
  • Manage consultants’ availability in-programme, ensuring the publishers get adequate contact-time with them
  • Manage calendar of delivery and scheduling of subsequent programmes
  • Be responsible for the post-programme action plan, ensuring delivery is improved upon in each iteration
  • Build strong client relationships and be available to respond to ad hoc requests.

  • Additional languages are welcomed but not essential


We are looking for someone to join full time and immediately for this role. You will be based remotely and at the Financial Times office in London.

In future, this role may require travel to client locations, which may be outside the UK.
