Have climate change issues ever been more important than they are right now?

We are looking for a talented, highly skilled and motivated intern to join our Public Sector team -Adaptation & Resilience area, which focuses on providing strategic guidance to our public sector clients on how to integrate climate change in their decision-making processes and identify viable financing options for adaptation and resilience projects. This role requires well-rounded candidates with a talent for independent thinking, effective collaboration and pragmatic problem-solving skills.

The Role

• Contribute to the Adaptation & Resilience project team delivering high-quality commissions for clients.
• Produce high-quality materials such as qualitative and quantitative analysis, written documents and presentations to short deadlines.
• Take a proactive role in business development identifying opportunities, supporting proposal writing, and contributing to the delivery of winning bids and other related activities.
• Help our managers develop, maintain, coordinate and facilitate strong relationships and good communication with business partners, clients, and team members.
• Communicate research findings effectively, and/or to ensure analysis undertaken is policy relevant.
• Support knowledge sharing and skill building across the organisation.

 The Requirements

• An insightful, independent, analytical mind, with a passion for climate-related issues and its socioeconomic impacts
• Some experience of the different approaches for assessing climate vulnerabilities and delivering climate resilience. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an asset.
• Some understanding of the financial mechanisms (e.g. international climate funds such as the Green Climate Fund) that can be used to fund climate-related projects.
• Ability to communicate methods, results and recommendations from complex analysis to expert and non-technical audiences.
• Self-starter, ability to juggle multiple complex tasks at the same time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professionalism, enthusiasm for working as part of a team, and ability to interact with a diverse group of people.
