Job Description

Overall purpose of the role:

To assist the UK Head of Information Security in the development and delivery of the Technology Risk Management, Information Security and Data Privacy Programmes. The intern will be expected to work closely with Head Office Programme team and executing the requirements necessary to ensure compliance in the UK as well as with local Risk, IT, Compliance and business application owners ensuring local policies and standards are applied consistently across all Natixis London business operations.

Main responsibilties of the role:

In close liaison with the Head of Information Security the Intern will:

Assist with the delivery of Information Security with a focus on:

  • Assessing and classifying data, such as assisting with risk assessments and establishing CIA basis for review (Confidentiality Integrity and Availability):
  • Monitoring and reviewing alerts for systems, evaluate and triage as necessary.
  • Assist in the creation of local security documentation (Policies, Standards, Guidelines, and reporting).
  • Assist with the design and delivery of Security awareness training to staff

Assist with the implementation of the Technology Risk Management framework by:

  • Providing oversight and independently challenging the first line of defence through an effective, objective assessment that is evidenced and documented.
  • Challenging the quality and sufficiency of the first line of defence risk activities.
  • Identifying and assessing current and emerging technology risks and controls.
  • Monitoring the adequacy and effectiveness of the mitigation systems.
  • Aggregate and share results across control areas to identify similar events, patterns, or broad trends.
  • Be responsible for the capture of essential information of a meeting – key points of discussions, decisions and assigned actions.

Assist with the delivery of Data Privacy ensuring the UK is compliant with DPA & UK GDPR requirements by:

  • Conducting Data Subject Access Requests when required.
  • Performing Data Privacy Impact Assessments.
  • Assisting the business and advising on privacy matters.
  • Attending EMEA Privacy Committee meetings.
  • Assist with the design and delivery of Data Privacy awareness training to staff.
  • Performing Data Privacy Impact Assessments.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Good understanding of the principles/issues involved in Information Security & Technology Risk Management
    • Knowledge of the ISO 27001 framework.
    • Basic understanding of the principles/issues involved in Data Privacy
    • Basic understanding of the UK Data Protection Act & UK GDPR
    • Disciplined, pragmatic approach.
    • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
    • Analytical skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly to others and to identify and escalate issues of concern to management, as appropriate
    • Ability to work in a pressured environment while prioritising appropriately competing objectives.
    • Supportive and reliable team member.
    • Self-motivated, demonstrating enjoyment in their work
