A successful digital news intern is committed to quality journalism, has strong knowledge of international issues, a keen interest in the digital media landscape, and a sharp eye for the stories that spark conversation on a daily basis.
Our intern will be assigned to the global programming team, which curates our homepages and mobile app. This team sits at the sharp end of our output – right at the point where our journalism meets our audience. There will be opportunities to hone your headline-writing skills, learn how to write engaging push alerts, and edit some of our key landing pages. There will also be opportunities to pitch to the news team – so you have the chance to finish your internship with a collection of bylines. The successful candidate will have solid news judgment, good writing skills, and sharp eye for how stories should be presented.
The digital video intern assists producers, editors and supervisors across the full gamut of video production, from the research and pitching stage right through to postproduction and all stages in between.
