The J.P. Morgan Development Finance Institution (“JPM DFI”) was launched in January 2020 to grow the firm’s sustainable development activities and mobilize private capital in emerging markets. The JPM DFI is part of J.P. Morgan’s broader sustainability functions and forms a key part of the firm’s $2.5 trillion 10-year target to advance long-term solutions that address climate change and contribute to sustainable development.
The JPM DFI utilizes its anticipated impact methodology to (i) assess the impact of emerging markets loans, bonds and derivatives originated and structured by the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB); and (ii) distribute such transactions to ESG/impact investors that are seeking assets with measurable impact.
The off-cycle intern will support the JPM DFI team in London with its investor outreach, distribution efforts and structuring of sustainable finance opportunities.
What to expect
Assisting on investor research and monitoring of investor developments/new impact funds that are launched
Mapping out the investor universe including institutional investors, impact investors and official development finance institutions
Supporting with investor calls and meetings, including the preparation of pitch materials and compilation of key information
Liaising with JPM sales and syndicate teams to distribute JPM DFI impact-assessed assets
Preparing materials for relevant sustainability, impact and ESG conferences
Supporting the JPM DFI team in its general business operations including, but not limited to, assisting in the buildout of sustainable development as an asset class
Working under the guidance of mentors and a supportive team
About You
Key skills include:
Batchelor’s degree or higher
Strong quantitative, analytical and computer skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel-based modelling
Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with a degree of independence
A team-player passionate about sustainable development with a high level of motivation to learn about and work in emerging markets
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail, especially in ensuring precision in all final outputs
Graduation date of no later than September 2022 as position has potential to convert to full-time for top-performers
