Job Overview/ Purpose:

The Rabobank London Summer Intern Programme aims to introduce and nurture new talent who can contribute and drive Rabobank towards its goal of being the premier Food Agri and Energy Transition bank. Each intern placement lasts 8 weeks (July-Sept) during which interns are provided with day-to-day tasks as well as objective driven ongoing projects.

The job holder will be expected to participate fully on the activities of each desk within Markets to which they are assigned.

Context of Job:

The Internship is coordinated by Markets London. Together with the line manager they are responsible for selecting, coaching and developing our intern cohort.  The wider context of Markets is to support our clients in managing risk (interest rate, foreign exchange, commodities) and the arrangement of financing solutions (syndicated loans, bonds) and related services.  Our clients include large wholesale corporates and financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Obtaining a working knowledge of Rabobank & placement departments
• Actively contribute to the preparation of pitch books/presentations
• Supporting scheduled and various projects including; assisting corporate research and investigating trading opportunities
• Assist with the generation of ideas for clients and prospects
• Liaising with various stakeholders across the business
• Support and contribute to building, improving and strengthening the cooperation with other Rabobank departments

Professional/ Managerial Autonomy:

• Contributes to expanding the knowledge of the team
• Contributes to administrative processes
• Works with the business to understand the consideration required between results and risks with a focus on maintaining and increasing customer confidence

Business Knowledge/ Technical Skills:

• No specific prior business knowledge is required, however strong numeracy skills, including the ability to work with figures, charts and graphs and to analyse information is desirable

• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

Systems Knowledge/ Skills:

• Good IT skills, including the full Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc
