About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking talent to join the EMEA Risk – Strategy, Planning & Governance internship programme.

Program Overview: Wells Fargo’s Summer Internship Experience is designed to help you learn more about what we do and the banking sector by getting involved in real life value adding projects. This is a 10week virtual experience, and you will be paid for your participation. (During Covid-19 office visits can be arranged providing it is permitted by government lockdown guidelines and Wells Fargo health & safety procedures.)

We will provide you with various learning opportunities and support throughout your time with us.  On joining, a buddy – previous intern or a current graduate – will help guide you through the transition from classroom to a professional workplace. Learning is on the job from experts in your team, as well as specifically designed courses providing the technical and general business skills needed to be successful.  And you have the opportunity to meet senior leaders and other experts across the company to start building your professional network.

The EMEA Risk SPG team provides support to the EMEA Independent Risk Management function, comprising of non-financial and financial risk teams.  During the 10 weeks, you will have the opportunity to contribute and gain practical experience within risk governance and operational activities.

In this role, you will:

  • Reporting on financial and non-financial risk – management information for regional boards and Risk committees.
  • Regulatory project interaction to ensure effective implementation.
  • Involvement with regional policy development to ensure compliance with the Enterprise.
  • Participate in Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) initiatives across the region.
  • Understanding of regional staffing, financial and internal service agreements.
  • Overview of EMEA Risk communication and awareness initiatives across the platform.
  • Provide support on monitoring routine activities, projects and ad-hoc tasks within the team.
  • Support oversight and monitoring of strategic and model risk exposures in the EMEA Region.
  • Gain exposure to the role the independent risk management function plays in capital, liquidity, and recovery & resolution planning.
  • You will be directly supervised and mentored by an experienced member of the team.

Required Qualifications, International:

  • Work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Have the relevant rights to work in the country where the internship experience is based
  • Be available to work full time throughout Mon 20th June 2022 – Fri 26th Aug 2022
  • In full time education at secondary school, college or university in the country where the internship experience is based
  • A good listener and feel comfortable to speak to individuals or groups from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Want to achieve high quality results consistently with a strong attention to detail
  • Able to work productively and with good judgement especially when without direct supervision
