Job Description

This is an eight week Industrial Placement starting on 27th June 2022.. The Internship programme is designed for students currently studying and undertaking a relevant University degree

Client service and Sales support

  • Provide support to the Banker and team as a point of contact and accountability for clients in respect to their day-to-day banking
  • Supporting the team in developing, growing, and retaining the portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring a quality of service is provided at all times
  • Support in analysing client book to identify target clients’ needs and attending client meetings to establish strong working relationships
  • Support in managing account maintenance procedures – including account opening and account closures
  • Develop a knowledge of structuring and completing credit applications
  • Develop an understanding of facility letters, and completion of lending transactions on the Bank’s loan administration and banking system
  • Provide support and awareness in the monitoring, preparation of annual client reviews – maintaining client files in the process
  • Develop an understanding of monitoring, reviewing and the preparation of drawdown recommendations in development loans following a review of Independent Monitoring Surveyor reports
  • Supporting Banker and CBE’s in collating loan packs for drawdowns and credit approval

General Administration

  • Conducting client communications
  • Preparing account opening forms
  • Responsible for keeping client records updated
  • Instigating and maintaining client files

Compliance

  • Complete compliance regulatory training (as required), adhering to both legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring money laundering/Know Your Customer procedures are implemented correctly and accurately
  • Assist Banker in the completion of KYC reviews and submission to compliance

Risk

  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures

Key Interfaces

  • Support other Commercial Banking Executives
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the wider Bank

Person Specification

Knowledge / Experience

  • Ability to provide a high level of client service and keeping the client at the heart of everything we do at all times
  • Working towards acquiring knowledge of regulatory requirements covering money laundering and criminal activity
  • Ability to develop a network both internally and externally to mutually benefit the team and the Bank
  •  Ability to work under pressure, deal with a heavy workload and meet stretching deadlines

  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office
