About Us

Every year, 200 million Europeans go through tax preparation hell. It’s a needlessly complicated process that can scare the living daylights out of you (actual words from our customers). Let’s be honest . Doing taxes is a massive pain.

While many other industries – from banking to transportation – have seen huge disruptions over the years, tax preparation has not. We’re here to fix that.

TaxScouts was founded in 2017 by early employees and alumni of Europe’s leading startups (TransferWise, Skype, MarketInvoice), and we are always on a lookout for like-minded people to join us. In 2020, we secured Series A funding and we now operate in both the UK and Spain.

We’re partnered with over 20 businesses from Monzo Business to Nutmeg to Airbnb who are all on a similar mission to ours of making the world of traditional finance simpler and more fair.



Who are we looking for
We are looking for positive, enthusiastic individuals with a keenness to learn to join an early-stage start-up on a temporary, full-time basis for six months. As a seasonal business, this role will provide cover for our busiest time of year.

We’re still a relatively small operations team, so we’re looking for proactive people who are willing to get stuck in and who are passionate about providing great customer service. From day one, you’ll need to immerse yourself in the company and build both your knowledge of our platform and your own tax knowledge.

You’ll be a confident and talented problem-solver, with a knack for clearly explaining tax-related jargon to a range of audiences and resolving complex issues.



What you’ll do 

  • Troubleshooting user queries via live chat, phone, and email to solve platform issues for our customers.
  • Liaising with customers and accountants to clarify and answer tax-related queries.
  • Working with our accountants and tech team escalating issues where appropriate.


  • Strong communication skills. Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Some knowledge of tax and accountancy helpful, interest and ability equally as important.
  • Previous customer service experience in an office setting desirable.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of work experience.
  • Passionate about technology and desire to understand our product inside out.
  • Strong customer empathy, attention to detail, and calm under pressure.
  • A willingness to learn and progress.
  • Problem solver and team player.
