The intern will be based within our internal communications team.  The intern will report to the Director of Internal Communications for our Global Operations, which includes our manufacturing and supply chain organisations.




The role will also have exposure to the wider internal communications team, and the corporate communications team. The placement will start in July 2021 and is expected to last six weeks.

Essential Job Functions

    • Creation of comms toolkits for manufacturing/supply chain sites
    • Support writing content for our intranet site, SNLife
    • Communications campaign to increase the use of our intranet app
    • Create employee/leadership “Meet the team” articles/videos
    • Support to develop content for Ops Town Hall




    • Proven interest and ability in communication, particularly strong writing skills and digital skills such as video creation
    • Highly organised and task oriented
    • Excellent diplomatic and inter-personal skills
    • Ability to work harmoniously, supporting a positive team atmosphere
    • Self-starter with track record in consistently delivering high quality work
    • Experience of or aptitude to work with confidential and sensitive information
    • Provides creative but practical solutions to problems
    • Passion to make a difference as well as zest to live and breathe the Smith+Nephew culture pillars of Care, Collaboration and Courage

The successful candidate is likely to have graduated summer 2021 or be a current under-graduate.

It is envisaged that the role will be based partly out of our office in Croxley, near Watford, and partly home based. The final arrangements will depend on the COVID-restrictions and company policy in place at the time regarding working from home and office.
