Job summary

This is a 1 year fixed term contract position based in London.

The main responsibilities of the Middle Office Analyst Intern are as per follows:

  • Performing daily cash reconciliation with custodian through the Middle Office Reconciliation tools
  • Achieving NAV reconciliation between Front and Fund Accountants through Middle Office reconciliation tools, ensuring a general coherence of the NAV on a daily basis, investigating main discrepancies.
  • Conducting a detailed reconciliation of positions, prices and valuations at least once a month on a line-by-line basis and maintaining records for audit purposes. For mandates, a detailed reconciliation between custodian’s official valuation and mirror valuation is also to be performed.
  • Investigating any discrepancies by liaising with Fund Accountants and reporting any accounting errors to Fund Managers, Risk and Portfolio Administration Manager.
  • Carrying out holdings reconciliations on a monthly basis or more regularly upon requirement.
  • Investigating any cash/holdings discrepancies by liaising with Custodians, Trade Processing Teams and any other relevant department and chasing up until the problem is resolved.
  • Outstanding flows/positions have to be documented with relevant comments in the reconciliation tools
  • Liaising with Trade Processing department to report any failure or delay in settlement that will generate negative interests and follow-up until claim case closed.
  • Control and validate Fund Factsheet within the deadlines and liaise with the different internal teams in order to amend incorrect data.
  • Working alongside product specialists, Expertise Reporting and Client Servicing teams in order to improve existing reports and create additional/new ones. When reports automation is not feasible, manually producing reports and send them to client servicing within the deadlines, keeping a record of production dates.
  • Reporting any relevant reporting issues or delays to the Portfolio Administration Manager and Client Servicing teams.
    Being involved in team projects, improvement of processes and systems automation.
  • Attending internal and external meetings, working closely with Amundi Paris, Dublin and London teams.
  • Keeping aware of portfolios / custodians / products / markets specificities for the AUM managed by Amundi London.
  • Being fully flexible amongst the members of the team and providing back up for colleagues when necessary.
  • The role holder will adhere to FCA rules and principles and the Firm’s policies and procedures.  Where appropriate, the role holder will seek guidance from Head of Compliance.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

  • Strong academic background in Finance preferable

Required skills

  • A good knowledge of main financial products (Fixed Income, FX Equity and derivatives ( Listed and OTC – Futures, Options, CFD, IRS, CDS, CCS,…).
  • Good analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Computer skills

Languages

Fluent English speaking required, French speaking would be beneficial but not essential
