Type                                                      Intern Analyst (Pipeline)

Your role

2024 Off-cycle Intern Program – Global Banking Private Funds Group (PFG)

• We are looking for someone to be part of a business that provides integrated advisory and fundraising solutions across the different verticals of our Private Funds Group (“PFG”): Primary Fundraising, Liquidity / Strategic Solutions and Real Estate Advice / Fundraising Solutions

• In this role you will be involved in the origination and execution of our mandates and also provide distribution and general marketing support across the verticals

• Primary Fundraising: working closely with our GP clients throughout a fundraise process from preparation through to final closing

• Liquidity / Strategic Solutions: be involved in restructuring funds and assisting institutional investors seeking to liquidate or monetise their holdings

• Real Estate: gain insight into fundraising, advisory, restructuring and recapitalisation assignments across a broad range of real estate market sub-segments

• Support the team’s origination efforts across the verticals, contributing to pitch presentations and gaining an understanding of market trends and participants

• You will get the chance to work on several projects concurrently across the different verticals with exposure to our global Advisory and Distribution teams as well as establishing working relationships with teams across the wider Global Banking business

Your team

As a member of PFG, you’ll be working in the Alternative Capital Group (“ACG”) within Global Banking, providing advisory services to private fund sponsors . In this role you will gain in depth knowledge on the primary and secondary fundraising markets as well as the real estate sector. You’ll play an important role in advising clients on a range of market and strategic matters including primary capital raises and secondary market solutions.

Diversity helps us grow together. That is why we are committed to fostering and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, it strengthens our business and brings value to our clients.

Your expertise

Please be mindful you can only make one application per academic year in the EMEA region (excluding Switzerland)

You need to be in the penultimate or final year of your degree, or recently graduated but no more than 6 months from the start date of the internship. In addition, you need to have or be on track for a 2:1 (UK grading system) or the equivalent in your first undergraduate degree.

It doesn’t matter what you’re studying. (Really, it doesn’t.) But we’d like to see evidence that you can:

– analyse a problem, take a view and come to a decision
– plan, organise and communicate well
– make things happen
– stick with a task
– work in a team
– come up with ideas

Perhaps you’ve organised a fundraising event or taken part in team sports? Or persevered and passed an exam in a subject you found challenging? Think about how things you’ve achieved match the skills we’re after.

Alongside evidence for working well as part of a team, as part of demonstrating data analysis and content creation skills we are looking for candidates proficient in MS Office (notably Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with an ability to draw out and present key conclusions from their work. For Global Banking you need to be a high-performing candidate who can multi-task effectively, showcase strong time management skills, with an ability to work to defined deadlines.

Your program

On this internship, you’ll be a real part of the team, working with our experts and learning about the industry, our clients, our firm and a specific area of it. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and make contacts. And if you impress us, we might invite you to join our Graduate Talent Program once you’ve graduated.
