Job Type: 8-week Internship (July – August), paid
Location: This role could be based in either our London / Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office.
Multiple opportunities available.

Context: Phoenix Asset Management Internship Programme

We are looking for Interns to join our teams across Asset Management for Summer 2024.

The Asset Management pathway will provide the opportunity for you to work with an experienced and diverse team of asset management professionals helping us to create the best investment outcomes for our £270bn assets under administration.  Asset Management is part-way through an ambitious strategy to build out new capabilities to support Phoenix’s growth ambitions and is core to delivery of the group’s strategic aims.

You’ll work in areas such as investment strategy and research, learning about financial markets and asset classes that we invest in on behalf of our 12 million customers, or broader functions such as operations, transformation, and technology as we implement new platforms and processes, transforming the way that we execute on our investment strategy.

The Programme;

  • Our summer internship programme will give you an insight into Asset Management within the Pension and Insurance industry and has been designed to develop your professional and technical skills, helping you gain confidence and knowledge for your future career.
  • The Summer Internship Programme can range from being placed in an Investments role or Non-Investments role
  • The programme will start with an induction week to set you up for the rest of your internship, including an overview of Phoenix Group and introductions to functions across asset management alongside tasks to introduce parts of the business and prepare you for the remainder of the programme.
  • Given a host team to sit in for the remainder of internship to provide a focus and allow you to really add value to the team, make closer connections with colleagues, and gain a greater knowledge of that area.
  • Although in a host team there will continue to be opportunities to learn about other areas in asset management through meetings and overarching projects you will work on alongside other interns.
  • You will be encouraged to share knowledge with each other and given networking opportunities.

Some of the day-to-day activities include;

  • Research and analysis to support projects and present findings to other members of the team
  • Providing commentary and taking notes on key market events
  • Attending meetings and helping to prepare presentations
  • Data manipulation tasks allowing you to develop skills and gain an understanding of various software
  • Helping to improve and streamline processes

Who we are looking for

Applicants must be pursuing a University Degree and have completed either their 1st Year or 2nd Year of their University Degree.

Candidates must be available from the start of July until the end of August 2024.
