The Mastercard Industrial Placement is aimed at early career talent, to develop skills and provide fantastic work experience. Successful candidates will be assigned to an innovative and exciting team for 12 months.

The program:
You will participate in our Industrial Placement Program, a fantastic year with a variety of opportunity. You will be assigned to a specific team and have some great deliverables to work on for your time with us. You will also have access to suite of training and development opportunities throughout the year. We aim to help you build a fantastic network across the business, have insight into multiple elements of the organisation and utilise the placement platform to enable you to make the most out of your final year at university. You will work with our teams, successful managers and executives who inspire, mentor, and coach others toward successful careers here at Mastercard.

Your role
The UK Product Management team is responsible for the product management of the Vocalink U.K. business. Product management involves activities to support the current product portfolio, and contractual obligations, to look at market opportunities to develop and launch new products, and track and report to management on financial plans and results. The UK product portfolio is the largest revenue contributor to Vocalink overall business. We act as the UK Payments infrastructure provider, and thus responsible for the day to day payment activities of the UK population and businesses.

Product Management Assistant Activities

  • Have sole responsibility for coordinating the collection, production and distribution of a pack that is then presented to successful managers and executives within Vocalink
  • Work closely with different managers on important/large scale projects providing an opportunity to gain insight into different areas of the business and the various activities of Vocalink.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new customers onto Vocalink products allowing you to see and communicate with the wide range of companies that do business with Vocalink.
  • Assist with day-to-day processes of various projects with product managers
  • Produce business cases for approval from information provided to you, cases which will later be discussed at a managerial or executive level



What you need:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong strategic and conceptual aptitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects concurrently
  • Studying a Sandwich placement degree and be in their second year of studies
  • Minimum predicted classification of a 2.1 in a related degree (e.g Business)
  • Languages: English required
