We’re currently seeking a Quantitative Analyst Intern to join us over the summer 2021 period. This is an exciting time for Brady and with recent PE-backing we’re currently developing a brand-new, cloud native power trading solution. As renewables continue to increase and disrupt the energy mix, Brady are responding to this market change with a new flagship software product that enables energy and power trading throughout the UK, EU and further afield.

This is a great opportunity for a Quantitative Analyst Intern to be involved in an exciting greenfield algorithmic trading software project, working closely with our Product Director, Chris Regan, who is one of the most respected industry leaders in Power Trading, along with our talented Senior Quantitative Analyst.



The role will also work closely with the customer base and commercial teams to gather insight into customer requirements and create quantitative solutions for those requirements. Solutions may vary from Product Specification, to creation of a Proof of Concept or to delivery of the algorithmic solutions in full.

Key Accountabilities: 

Vision and strategy

  • Collaborate with the Product Director to define and evolve product vision ensuring product market leadership and growth
  • Embed an algorithmic trading strategy into the Quantitative team overarching strategy

Product Leadership

  • Development, proof of concept and delivery of:
    • Algorithmic trading models for auctions
    • Algorithmic trading models for continuous markets
    • Algorithmic trading models for arbitrage of wholesale and ancillary / imbalance markets

Commercial Accountability

  • Ensure consistent quality and acceptance of deliverables, e.g., first time acceptance from customers



Key Skills/Experience:

  • Working towards a relevant Quantitative Analysis degree (undergraduate, postgraduate or PhD) with a focus on algorithmic trading such as Quantitative Finance, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, etc.
  • Development experience in Python, R or similar languages
  • Ability to create, backtest and deliver trading algorithms.
  • An interest in or some experience in algorithmic trading solutions for the energy or commodity trading markets
  • Active listening to customer requirements
  • Excellent, clear and concise communicator
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills
