The Team

The Global Quantitative Summer Analyst Program assigns interns to teams across the enterprise. Internship opportunities include positions supporting various business groups, such as the below:

– Global Risk Analytics

– Enterprise Credit Risk

– Model Risk Management

– Enterprise Independent Testing

– Corporate Treasury

– Data, Digital & Global Marketing

– Global Market and Financial Risk


  • Intern team assignments are developed based on business need and aligned to skillset and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Programme Overview

Our Summer Analyst programme is designed to offer you a broad and exciting experience of what it is like to work as a full time Quantitative Management Analyst Program will help you develop analytical and quantitative skills and gain an understanding of applying these in a banking context.

Training and Development

Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the programme in addition to on the job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.


Quantitative Analytics internships provide participants the opportunity to work on various tasks leveraging programming, data analysis, modelling, and other technical skillsets to understand how the bank makes key decisions. As a Summer Analyst, you will be placed on one team where your primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Developing emerging risk assessments and analysing credit risk scenarios
  • Quantitative modelling, including building forecast models, pricing models, and stress test models
  • Conducting research and analysis to provide a micro view of risk management in a particular business line and a macro view of risk management for the bank as a whole
  • Assessing market trends and providing quantitative data for internal partners and ultimately, clients
  • Applying quantitative knowledge to specific financial challenges and projects specific to your business alignment
  • Implementing solutions applying both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Networking with risk executives and key stakeholders to cultivate meaningful relationships across various lines of business


  • Candidates are required to be in their penultimate year of study pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university with a graduation between September 2024 and June 2025
  • Pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, PhD or other advanced degree from an accredited college or university in quantitative disciplines such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, and Economics
  • On track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent) in their first degree
  • Must be available to join the programme from June 2024 to August 2024

What we are looking for


  • Have understanding and expertise in relevant technical areas which can include, statistics, time series analysis, probability theory, numerical analysis, optimization techniques, machine learning or high-performance computing
  • Have experience in computer programming, preferably in Python or C++
  • Strong technical writing and clear verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and properly prioritize work
  • Fluency in English, which is essential for all roles. A second language may be advantageous
  • Team-working, leadership and problem-solving skills are key qualities along with the proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of people
