Black Heritage Insight Programme (in partnership with The Black Economist Network)

The Black Heritage Insight Programme offers university students of Black Heritage (this includes students of mixed ethnicities) the opportunity to get a first-hand insight into what it’s like working at a dynamic economics consultancy. From learning about our projects to participating in company activities, the programme will build your confidence and network as you kickstart your career in economics. The programme will run from 24th to 27th July 2023

Over three and a half days, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Network with our people across our European offices, whilst getting an insight into the role of an economist
  • Enhance your skills to prepare you for our intern and analyst recruitment processes
  • Gain an understanding of some of our current projects
  • Experience the Frontier culture and hear more about our D&I networks

About you

  • We are looking for individuals who have a genuine interest in economic consulting and are curious to find out about what we do here at Frontier Economics.
  • This programme is open to first-year undergraduate students, or second-year students studying a four year undergraduate course.
  • You will be predicted a 2:1 Bachelor’s degree in economics or an economics related degree. Overall your studies should have a strong focus on economics.
  • Interest in micro-economics.

What you need to do next

Before you can apply, you will need to be a member of The Black Economists Network. You can sign up here. Candidates have the opportunity to get support with their application. Please contact hello@tben.co.uk with “Application Support: 2023 Frontier Economics Black Heritage Programme” in the subject and attach your CV, and you will be matched with a TBEN member.

There are three steps to the application process:

  • Submit CV and answer some motivational questions
  • Phone interview with Recruitment
  • Offer decision made

Deadline: Friday 28th April

Please note:

  • We are planning to host the Black Heritage Insight Programme in person at Frontier’s London office. If you are not able to commute to London, please let us know in your application. Funding can be provided for travel and/or accommodation needs.
  • Participants will be paid the National Living Wage.

About Frontier

We help companies with their biggest challenges – market strategies, regulatory reviews, competition inquiries. And we help governments design innovative policies and regulatory systems.

Economics is (nearly) everywhere and the economist’s toolkit is large. Clients are surprised at the breadth of our work. Not just the costs of supply, movements in demand, pricing and competitive dynamics. But we are also experts in finance, statistical modelling, game theory, market research and even the psychological side of economics. And we’ve worked in almost every sector imaginable, from fertilisers and oil rigs to handbags and iPads.

In some sectors, economics is so critical that we’ve also built specialist knowledge. Our powerful tools and sector knowledge are valuable. But we try not to stop there. Making an impact for clients means understanding the issues, whether it’s the commercial reality of the business; what is really driving customer behaviour; or the political context. We are also aware that our clients want clear and simple advice, from people they trust. So we place a lot of emphasis on our communications, and on human relationships. We provide complex analysis but plain language – English, German, French or Spanish.

Our reports are often used in legal proceedings and so our evidential standards are high. We never “write to order”. Our work is respected because we are independent and obsessive about the truth.

We work with clients all over the world and have offices in Berlin, Brussels, Cologne, Dublin, Madrid, London and Paris. Our sister company in Australia works from Sydney and Melbourne.
