Job Purpose
Our Capital Markets department offers advisory services for corporates across both debt and equity products. The Equity Capital Markets team in London originates and executes IPOs, rights issues, equity placements and equity-linked products for clients in the UK & Ireland, Germany-Austria-Switzerland, Nordic region, Netherlands & Belgium, Spain, Portugal & Italy. As an intern you will work on all products and will predominantly be focused on one geographic region.
Core accountabilities of role
- Working on presentations for pitches and marketing materials for the team
- Being actively involved in the origination and execution of transactions
- Research and analysis for potential transaction opportunities
- Taking on responsibility for market updates
- Participation in internal ECM meetings
- Maintenance of internal databases
- Daily market monitoring to identify market trends in real time
Knowledge, Skill & Experience
- Genuine interest and knowledge of financial markets & products as well as strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Hard-working profile and ability to cope with pressure
- Previous experience in an Investment Banking / ECM role highly desirable
- Excellent language skills in English and an additional European language will be an advantage (especially German, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish or Dutch)
- A good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is crucial to this position
- The ideal candidate will be studying or have studied an Economics, Finance or Mathematical Undergraduate or Master’s Degree
