About the role

Are you eager to learn and understand more about the global trends and dynamics that drive the (Re)Insurance industry? Here is your chance!

We are looking for highly motivated and curious person, that would drive a wide range of topics from portfolio management, a comprehensive analysis of transactions, credit measurement and building on existing reporting capabilities.

As SwissRe’s continues to see growth through new and innovative products, managing Insurance counterparty exposure must evolve to reflect this. Upon joining our team, you’ll have the oversight of the entire spectrum of (Re)Insurance transactions.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Apply your process management, organisational and analytical skills across the spectrum of transactions.
  • Take ownership of the tasks but will of course have support and mentorship from the project coach, the project sponsor and learn from others in the team.
  • Connect with senior colleagues across Swiss Re.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Developing a comprehensive portfolio management tool that can be used for everyday transaction management.
  • After analysing the results, building a framework for identifying exposures and tracking transactions suitable for both day-to-day use and reporting capabilities for senior management.
  • Refining the CRM internal scoring model to assist with rolling out of delegated authority to more product lines.
  • Drafting and developing standards and guidance to add into Groupwide policies and procedures.

The position would suit a person looking to apply their existing knowledge of credit risk management into a fast-paced business with a real-world impact.

About the team

As one of the three sub-teams within Credit Risk Management unit, in our CRM Insurance team we are responsible for Credit Risk across Swiss Re’s (Re)Insurance portfolio. We represent a core part of Group Risk Management as an independent control function to protect Swiss Re’s balance-sheet against severity risks.

Our Insurance team is small, but global with presence in Asia, Europe and the Americas covering all aspects of credit risk including identification, measurement, ratings, appetite and reporting. The team interacts with whole spectrum of business divisions throughout Swiss Re.

About you

  • You hold or are in the process of completing an Undergraduate degree or higher in Business, Accounting & Finance, Economics, or related fields. We will consider those with alternative backgrounds with work experience.
  • You are able to assess and scrutinise large datasets to generate information that helps others make decisions.
  • You are comfortable working in a team and independently, with experience in managing and prioritising multiple tasks.
  • You can communicate clearly and effectively with wider team, actively contributing to CRM team goals.

The chosen candidate will be granted 10 weeks-long paid Summer Internship starting from 26th of June. Please note this is the London based internship.

We are looking forward to your application!
