Requirements: Our Head Start Programme aims to provide you with a rewarding experience giving you a great insight into what it is like to work at HSBC, as well as our culture and values. We will deliver several interactive sessions allowing you to demystify the world of Banking and build your understanding of our global businesses.
You will have the opportunity to enhance key skills to develop your potential when making future career choices. This Hybrid Programme will start off with 4 virtual sessions followed by a week of in person experiences taking place at one of our Head Offices.
During our virtual sessions you will hear from our senior business leaders, recent graduates as well as our graduate recruitment team. These sessions will be delivered virtually every Monday during the summer (July/August dates to be confirmed).
We will then invite you to take part in a “Work experience week” from September 4th – 8th, where you will get the opportunity to explore a more in depth look at one of our business lines. Upon completion of the programme, you will be asked to submit an early application to our 2024 Summer Internship and we will provide you with further support to perform well in our recruitment process.
To be eligible for this Programme you will have achieved or will be on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 Degree classification / 3.2 GPA or higher or overseas equivalent to this. Payment contribution will be made for attendees of the in person “Work experience week”.

What to expect
During this five-day programme we will provide you with an introduction to the various business areas of HSBC and what it means to work in the world of financial services.
Throughout the programme we will offer various workshops to increase your knowledge, develop your skills and confidence alongside aiding your employability for the future.
What you will do
During this programme, you can discover where your skills and passions fit best by immersing yourself in interactive learning sessions and skills workshops. You will hear from senior leaders and professionals from our core business areas to give you an insight into how we work in each area.
This programme will help you understand how we work with our customers on exciting and innovative projects, you will gain an introduction to technology at HSBC and the latest technological advancements, and learn the importance of teamwork and the communication skills needed to build client relationships.
Whatever degree discipline you are studying, your skills and passions have a place at HSBC. The UK Head Start Programme will allow you to not only learn about the bank, but also to learn a bit about yourself.
