We have designed this 18-month programme to help talented individuals get started in their careers, and it could see you grow in a number of key roles. About the Programme Salary: £21,000 Length: 18 months, starting in August 2023 Applications for our 2023 Level 4 Apprenticeship Development Programme will open on 14 November 2022. You will start the programme with a formal introduction to the various areas of the Bank and training sessions on essential skills. You’ll have a full induction to the Bank on joining, and will get the opportunity to find out more about the vast and varied array of work we undertake here every day. Alongside this, you will be enrolled on a part-time Level 4 Apprenticeship. The Apprenticeship will provide you with the theoretical knowledge that will complement the skills and invaluable on-the-job learning that you will gain whilst working here. Studying whilst working can sound challenging. As part of the programme, you will be given dedicated study leave and the support of your local Line Manager to ensure you have sufficient time and support to balance your studies with your work. The Bank also has a dedicated Future Talent Team who are there specifically to support you throughout your programme. If you are interested in the Bank’s Level 4 Apprenticeship Development Programme, the next step is to choose between the following opportunities: Level 4: Data Analyst (JustIT) The main role of a Data Analyst is to collect, organise and study data to provide business insight. As a Data Analyst you could be involved with managing, cleansing, manipulating, abstracting and aggregating data, and conducting a range of analytical studies on that data. You would play a key role in producing high quality data and supporting economists in their work and publications. Successful completion of JustIT’s Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship will gain you two certifications in Data Analysis Tools and Data Analysis Concepts. If successful, you could be allocated to one of the following areas: Data Analytics Transformation, Markets, Resolution, Insurance or People & Culture. Level 4: Business Solutions Expert (JustIT) Business Experts are agile problem-solvers, who play a critical role in enabling business change. This apprenticeship focuses on teaching the latest approach and techniques for business analysis, change management and project implementation. This programme will enable you to make practical improvements in how you identify, evaluate and define options for improvement within an organisation. If successful, you could be allocated to one of the following areas: Technology or Resolution. Level 4: Level 4 Professional Accounting (BPP) Finance of the future will look very different from those today. Increasing requirements for automation, requires not only understanding the accounting standards, but now require skills in technology and dealing with data. Professionals with strengths in more than one of these areas and who have a strong problem solving mind-set can make valuable contributions to the development and operation of well controlled finance systems and processes. In addition, as the activities of the Bank become more diverse, it is as important as ever for an accounting professional to build a wide network and develop broad commercial acumen in relation to the business which enables them, as a trusted advisor, to contribute to creating a real and active partnership with different areas of the Bank, provide ‘real time’ support, and to add value that will assist in decision making. This role will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in all of these activities in the Finance & Performance Directorate, and learn the appropriate and valuable skills to operate as an accounting professional in the future. You will learn how to apply your skills within a business framework, understanding the systems and processes used, as well as the standard accounting and tax practices employed. Your contribution to the team and organisation will be valued by your accuracy, efficiency and professional approach. This Apprenticeship will sponsor training towards Level 4 ACCA (FIA), CIMA (Cert) or the ICAEW (CFAB). If you are successful in securing a place on this programme, you will be allocated to Finance. Who are we looking for? We want people who are eager to learn and serious about building a career at the heart of the UK economy. You will also need to know what we do, share our purpose, and be genuinely motivated to join the Bank of England. In terms of grades, we will be looking for a minimum of five GCSEs at C (4) and above, including English and Math’s, and at least 72 UCAS points (either passed or predicted) from up to three A Levels or equivalent using the 2017 UCAS Tariff System.
