Wells Fargo EMEA is seeking talent to join the 2023 Commercial Real Estate Graduate Analyst Program in Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB). The successful candidates will be working in a front office function focused on the origination, execution, and ongoing management/monitoring of real estate lending transactions.

Commercial Real Estate (CRE) is part of the Corporate & Investment Banking division and delivers real estate banking services to corporate clients, including fund managers, large private property companies, and real estate investment trusts (REITs).  Wells Fargo CRE has consistently performed with a leading market share in the US where we have been the No.1 commercial real estate lender yearly since 2009 (MBA Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Firms Annual Origination Volumes, year-end 2020). The CRE EMEA team provides an important strategic bridge for the bank to support US clients investing in the EMEA region and to introduce domestic clients to the wider Wells Fargo franchise. The CRE EMEA team use innovative and often complex debt structures to support investors across a wide spectrum of real estate assets located within the UK and Ireland.

JOB DESCRIPTION/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be working as a Graduate Analyst within the CRE EMEA team based out of our London or Dublin office. You will work alongside and assist our relationship managers, and become an integral part of the CRE EMEA team, with the opportunity to assume a significant amount of responsibility that may include:

  • Financial and cashflow model analysis to assess and quantify key risks in new lending opportunities
  • Preparation of deal summary memorandums to assist in pitching new opportunities to relevant credit and senior business side individuals
  • Reviewing and assisting in the development of loan agreements and ancillary documents related to the closing of a real estate financing transaction
  • Running internal models to assess transaction profitability and risk ratings
  • Analysis of the financial creditworthiness of companies, often our tenants, borrowers, and guarantors
  • Preparing ongoing loan monitoring reports on a periodic basis
  • Attend client meetings and site visit of existing and potential new opportunities throughout the UK and Ireland

In addition to on-the-job coaching and mentoring, analysts will participate in centralized technical and soft skill training programs to equip analysts with the skills, knowledge, and tools to make an immediate contribution to the CRE EMEA team.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

CIB Commercial Real Estate Analysts must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, and personal motivation. It is preferred that your background includes:

  • An interest in finance and real estate
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  •  Clear and concise verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of initiative and accountability
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proven leadership, self-motivation, and success through internships, part-time or full-time work, and/or extracurricular activities
  •  Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Available for program start date of August/September 2023
