Mizuho 2023 Intern Programme – Operations Department
The Operations department works in partnership with the multiple business lines in front office, providing pre/post trade support for transactions executed in Fixed Income, Equities, Structured Finance and Derivative markets.
Operations plays a key role in delivering an optimal, full-spectrum service for all clients and consists of the following teams; Business Management, Network Management, Middle Office, Collateral Management, Client On-boarding and Settlements. Operations staff will learn the end-to-end processes supporting the life-cycle of a transaction. In addition to core responsibilities, Operations support new business proposals, regulatory change and general initiatives to improve the way the department operates.
As an intern in the Operations department, you will gain exposure to all departments firm-wide (including Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Technology & Finance) and develop a strong understanding of the businesses we support, trade life-cycle and regulatory landscape.
To join our team, you will possess excellent problem solving skills, strong team orientation and an awareness of risk management and preferably have demonstrated this via your chosen field of study (any degree discipline). You need not have had experience working directly in this field but we would expect you to demonstrate a keen and well-researched interest in Operations and the financial services sector. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate our core values of winning spirit, inspiring trust and diversity of thought.
Our interns will gain experience in Operations over a 10 week period with a view to being offered a position on the Mizuho 2024 Graduate Programme, commencing September 2024.
Applicants to the Mizuho 2023 Intern Programme will ideally be in their penultimate year of undergraduate study and be available for permanent employment from September 2024.
