What you’ll do
HSBC Asset Management develops and manages investment management products and services for clients around the world, from individual retail customers to major multinational corporate clients, sovereign wealth funds and financial institution clients.
You’ll learn about Asset Management’s investment processes and build an understanding of stock selection, portfolio construction, and ongoing portfolio management.
You’ll analyse and interpret economic developments and key trends in various financial markets and products, to inform views which are shared with internal and external clients. This may involve conducting bespoke research and analysis, as well as participating in conferences and seminars, and creating presentations.
You’ll predominantly work in Investment teams, supporting either a designated product or asset class like Fixed Income or Equity, or supporting a capability area like Real Estate or Private Debt.
You’ll also spend time supporting projects and job shadowing in areas including Sales and Operations, so you gain an understanding of the core operations of the business.
Who you are
You think critically and have a scientific mind that seeks to fulfil your intellectual curiosity.
You’re entrepreneurial and don’t need to wait to be told what to do.
You’re familiar with financial report writing and financial modelling.
What you’ll learn
You’ll get a dedicated line manager and ‘home desk’ from day one. This will give you the support needed to build deep technical expertise and a sense of belonging to a team.
You’ll further develop your financial modelling skills.
You’ll have a Graduate Programme alumnus to help you settle in with us. They’ll help you navigate the organisation and make connections so you can build your networks. A mentor will also be available to provide advice and guide your development.
You’ll have plenty of opportunities for continuous learning and people to support you during your time with us so that you’re well prepared for your future. Read more about the support you’ll get.
