Who we’re looking for    

Schroders’ trainee programme is your chance to gain a year of hands-on, paid work experience. If you’ve just finished your A-levels or your BTECs then this programme provides you with a chance to explore the world of work. We also accept applications from graduates.

Although you may have never heard of Schroders before visiting our website, this trainee programme could be for you because key to the purpose of the programme is to teach you about what, why and how we do what we do.

On this programme, you’ll be part of our Campaigns and Activation Team or our Digital Marketing & Engagement team within our Product division.

As a trainee, you will receive ongoing training designed to develop throughout the year, where you will have the chance to improve your skills as well as your technical knowledge. We support you to take the Investment Foundation Certificate, which is a professional industry qualification and you’ll be paid competitively above the London living wage.

You will join as part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with others across the industry and participate in training, socials and insight events.

The Roles
We are looking for two Marketing and Communications trainees to support the work of our Campaign Activation team and Digital Marketing & Engagement team both within our product division

The Campaigns and Activation Team
The team leads on central always-on promotional strategy and execution (display, native, content, social and search) for integrated campaigns.

We cover a wide range of areas and client types, with a significant focus on raising brand awareness through sustainability and private assets.

The team in London works across all central marketing teams, as well as with representatives in 30+ countries.

What you’ll do 

As a Campaign Activation trainee, you’ll take on the day-to-day tasks of the team, supporting the wider team to focus on delivering integrated campaigns.

  • Assisting in the creation and dissemination of marketing materials in key markets, across 20+ languages
  • Co-ordinate and embed feedback from multiple stakeholders across the business for new initiatives, with a focus on sustainability
  • Assisting with global roll-out of messaging across multiple countries and languages, helping define processes and efficiencies, using data and data-driven insights to enhance
  • Utilise multiple marketing tactics such as content production and distribution, website management, advertising, email promotions and events.
  • Helping co-ordinate, review and collate research results across global research providers
  • Assisting with approval and processing of invoices
  • Assisting with compliance approval and updates

The Digital and Engagement Team       

The team is  responsible for how we digitally engage with our clients across multiple channels, from email, advertising and social media, through to our websites. An important function of the team is to provide timely and useful analytics of how our clients are engaging and responding to our content. Both the Digital and Content teams work closely together on a number of projects to continuously improve our Marketing distribution and reporting activities.

You’ll be working closely with talented people from technology and digital, to Marketing, Sales and Client Servicing. With the continued proliferation of digital, this is an opportunity for the right individual to join a growing team and support the delivery of Marketing’s key initiatives across all regions. You will develop not only your own skills, but help shape relationships and the acceleration of digital throughout the business.

What you’ll do 

As a Digital and Engagement trainee, you’ll take on a number of key tasks, supporting the wider team and focusing on strategic initiatives. Some of the activities you’ll be involved with will include:

  • Using our marketing analytics platform to produce regular reporting of client engagement with investment content (for instance usage data reports to help us understand what our clients are reading)
  • Identifying key trends and topics within analytics to help improve our content strategy  (review the reports to show the investment writers what topics are trending)
  • Working with a number of teams to continuously enhance the quality, insight and output of reporting (develop the reports so they add more value)
  • Using our marketing communication tools to send relevant content to clients that helps improve our brand awareness and new opportunities for sales
  • Working across Marketing and Sales to improve the insights we deliver on client activity to support business development
  • Build relationships across Marketing, Sales and Technology teams through clear and regular communication (help improve liaison and collaboration across teams)

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Although we usually ask you to have achieved at least 96 UCAS points to be eligible for this role, we appreciate the need to be flexible given the on-going pandemic and disruption to your school/ college life. If you’ve achieved a little under 96 UCAS points in the academic year 20/21, we would still encourage you to apply
  • You must be 18 years old by Monday 5 September to apply for the 2022 intake

    •    Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
    •    Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Outlook and Word.
