CME Group is currently looking for an Economics Department summer intern.

Great opportunity for a school leaver to gain some experience post A levels. This candidate will assist the Senior Economist on day-to-day activities in support of our thought leadership and economics analysis activities.  Tasks will include sourcing economic data from the Internet, working with Excel to create charts and tables for data analysis, working with various statistical methods to analyse economic relationships, editing and proofing economic research, assisting in the development of power point presentations related to economic analysis, assisting with data preparation for econometric analysis, working with Marketing and Corporate Communications to analyse the effectiveness of our videos, podcasts, and research reports at reaching target clients, etc.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Data acquisition into Excel
  • Creating selected charts
  • Time series statistical analysis of economic data
  • Internet searches related to specific research ideas
  • Assisting with tasks related to the distribution of research

Skills / Software Requirements:

  • Excel
  • Good communications and writing skills
  • Strong mathematical or statistical skills


  • Minimum B achieved or predicted in Economics or Business A level
  • Acceptance onto an Economics focused degree course

Internship Duration:  13 weeks

Timing: Start date is flexible, based on the applicant’s school calendar
