Job description

Our purpose focuses on how we contribute to society, and how our business decisions can contribute to greater trust and solving important problems. In order to achieve our purpose and deliver a first-class service to our clients, we need first-class support internally. The people who power us – our internal teams – have a vital role to make sure we have all the right resources, services and technology to be the best we can be. Not all of us work directly with external clients. Some of our most talented people choose to harness their skills inside of PwC. Our Internal Firm Services are responsible for providing generalist Human Capital (HC) support across our business which is comprised of over 22,000 employees across the UK. The HC team acts as a liaison, advisor and facilitator between the business and specialist HC support teams, allowing PwC to operate effectively to meet its people agenda.

Virtual Insight Week

Throughout the Virtual Insight Week, you’ll have the opportunity to gain lots of valuable skills, and explore your career options with PwC. You may be interested in doing an apprenticeship, going to university, or you’re still not sure, and you simply want to find out more about PwC and the different areas of PwC that you could join. The Virtual Insight Week will help you to answer these questions by giving you an insight into lots of our different business areas, and you’ll hear from staff who have joined PwC through a range of pathways and programmes.

You’ll get to try out some of these different business areas for yourself through interactive workshops and demonstrations. Some of the technical skills sessions will be differentiated so that you’re able to select either a ‘beginner’ or ‘advanced’ level based on your individual experience of a topic. You’ll also take part in a variety of skills sessions on topics such as wellbeing, resilience and personal values. These sessions will equip you with the skills and knowledge to help you succeed with a future application to PwC and beyond.

The programme will run virtually across the five days. For the optimum experience, you’ll need a laptop or computer and internet connection to join the online sessions, but many sessions will also be accessible via a smartphone as well. The week will include both live and recorded sessions to offer you as much flexibility as possible and it will be down to you to choose which sessions you’d like to attend across the week. If you don’t currently have a personal laptop or you’re worried about your internet connection, please do still apply to the programme. It’s very important to us that this opportunity is available to students regardless of their personal situation and we may be able to provide support with access to the necessary equipment. We’ll be contacting all successful applicants regarding what support may be available after we have confirmed offers for the programme.

Programme dates:
Monday 26 July – Friday 30 July 2021.

Following the Virtual Insight Week:
After completing the programme, you may decide to apply for one of PwC’s full-time apprenticeships or one of our Flying Start Degree programmes if you meet the eligibility criteria. We’ll notify you as soon as our 2022 School and College Leavers roles are live and we’ll also provide you with access to further opportunities to learn more about the roles available and what to expect from the selection process.

What you’ll gain:
Improve your employability skills
Find out about the world of business, accounting and technology
Build your confidence
Prepare yourself for your next career steps

What you’ll need:
No matter what subjects you’re studying, we’d love you to join us as we recruit students regardless of what A-Level subjects or equivalent qualifications that you’re studying. This is your chance to take the first step towards an incredible career.

You’ll need to currently be in Year 12 in England and Wales, Year 13 in Northern Ireland, or S5 in Scotland, and be finishing school or college in 2022.

You’ll need to be on course for a 96 UCAS tariff from your BTEC, or across your top 3 A-Levels or equivalent qualification (excluding General Studies and the EPQ).

Recruitment process deadlines:
Applications open on 1 February 2021.
You’ll need to submit your application by Sunday 14 March 2021.
You’ll need to have completed our online behaviour-based assessment by Sunday 21 March 2021.
You’ll hear from us with the outcome of your application by the end of April 2021.
