The aim of the programme is to foster Black undergraduate talent.
Black talent is currently underrepresented in our industry and recent stats have shown that there are only 11 Black equity partners across the largest four accountancy firms in the UK, with over 50% of these being partners at PwC. Although 32% of PwC’s 2020 intake were from an ethnic minority background compared to the 25% ethnic minority students at UK Universities. However, only 2% of our graduates were Black compared to 4% of Black students in the UK university population eligible for our programmes. So we know we have more work to do in reaching Black students and encouraging them to explore opportunities at PwC.

Open to all first year students on a three-year degree or second year students on a four-year degree. We’re looking for students who are seeking an experience in professional services.
What you’ll do
During this three-day paid programme you’ll get an insight into what a career at PwC could look like, you’ll virtually meet mentors and buddies who’ll represent the variety of opportunities available across PwC. You’ll meet some of our Black colleagues to hear about their own personal career journeys, as well as from some of our networks focussed on Diversity and Inclusion. Through interactive sessions the programme will help you to develop confidence in a business setting and encourage you to bring your whole self to the workplace. At PwC, we nurture an environment where our people can be the best they can be.
Our Black Talent in Business programme will be a 3-day paid programme which will be run virtually in Summer 2021.
What you’ll need
Our opportunities are only available for first year students on a 3-year degree, or second year students if on a 4-year degree. Please make sure you check the job description to ensure you’re eligible for that specific role.
This programme is open to students from any degree discipline. You’ll need to be working towards a 2:1 degree to achieve a place on one of our further programmes.
If you’re not currently studying towards a degree unfortunately you’ll not be eligible for this programme but don’t forget to look at our School and College Leaver opportunities.
If you are a penultimate year student you aren’t eligible for the programme by don’t forget you can apply for our summer internship.
How to apply
To get onto the Black Talent in Business programme, in line with our standard selection process, you’ll have to complete and pass the first two stages of our selection process including Career Unlocked, our game based assessment and Career Conversation, our video interview.
You’ll then be invited to a 1 day insight event during the Easter break. On this day we will discuss with you the office you would like to join for any roles following the programme and also so we can set you up with a mentor in that office. Following this you’ll need to complete the final stage of our selection process Career Focus, our assessment day. If you’re successful then you’ll be invited to the 3 day paid summer programme.
