New Business Apprenticeship
Application Deadline: 31-Mar-2021
Did you know you don’t have to complete an internship to work in financial services? UBS’s Apprenticeship program provides ambitious and talented individuals with an alternative route to a career in financial services. You’ll earn a salary working in the exciting and fast-paced environment of investment banking, whilst completing training for a recognized qualification offering a fee-free on-the-job education alternative to the traditional route.
Our apprentices help private bankers and their assistants deliver excellent service to clients.
You will be responsible for ensuring that important admin and client-related processes are completed quickly and accurately, preparing reports and proposals for meetings, and help maintain client relations and support great customer service, working closely with the Private Banking client teams.
You’ll be joining a diverse dynamic team of individuals who spend their day speaking to clients and internal teams, making sure that UBS is facilitating the clients’ business in accordance with their wishes, as well as meeting all internal business requirements. The client base you would cover varies depending on which Private Banking client team you join.
You need to have completed your A-levels or equivalent by September 2021 and achieved BBC along with a level 5/6 in English Language and Maths GCSE. It doesn’t matter what you’re studying. (Really, it doesn’t.) But we’d like to see evidence that you can:
• analyze a problem, take a view and come to a decision
• plan, organize and communicate well
• make things happen
• stick with a task
• work in a team
• come up with ideas
Perhaps you’ve organized a fundraising event or taken part in team sports? Or persevered and passed an exam in a subject you found challenging? Think about how things you’ve achieved match the skills we’re after.
You’ll be joining us on a 4 year degree apprenticeship. The first stage of your apprenticeship is a Level 4 Investment Operations Specialist apprenticeship, and on completion , you’ll then progress onto a Level 6 Financial Services Professional apprenticeship, inclusive of the industry recognised Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) 1, as the final stage of the degree apprenticeship, with the potential to gain a BSc (Hons) degree.
What you could go on to do
Your career development and professional qualifications don’t stop after the apprenticeship. Focused and determined individuals will be able to attain further qualifications – and when your training is complete, you will have the opportunity to work towards a junior sales person or client service relationship manager.
How you will be supported
This is an opportunity to work alongside some of the best people in the financial services industry with high visibility towards the bank’s senior management. You’ll be supported by several members of the sales team together with support from the program, your line manager, team, mentor and HR. Plus, there are some excellent additional training programmes, through training partner University of Exeter and the internal UBS University.
