Who we’re looking for
If you’ve just finished school or college, and gained A-levels or BTECs, and you’re not sure that university is for you, then our Operations Apprenticeship Programme provides you with a chance to take the first step in your career and earn while you learn.

You’ll be part of one of our Operations team within our infrastructure business. You’ll be part of a vital function helping support the wider business so we’re looking for individuals who  are flexible, creative and curious enough to take on a challenge. You’ll build an understanding of the different areas within Operations and see your role evolve as the business does.

 Over the course of your first two years you will spend 20% of your time each week training and gaining the skills you need to build your expertise and establish yourself as a specialist within your team.

The base

Investment20/20
You will join as an apprentice as part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with trainees across the industry and participate in training, socials and insight events.

The team(s)

Derivative Services Team (Infrastructure)
The Derivative Services Team is a central unit within Investment Services, reporting to the COO Investment and supporting across all asset classes. The team provides a variety of services for Derivatives including broker onboarding, trade capture, collateral, confirmations, settlements and lifecycle management.

The team is also responsible for setting up all new broker relationships and managing any associated ‘Know Your Client’ (KYC) / ‘Due Diligence Documentation’ (DDD).

What you’ll do (Derivative Services)
Some of the tasks and projects you’ll be involved in are:
•    Setting up business data for trading, operations, collateral and legal in our front to back systems.
•    Liaising with other operational areas, Investment, internal clients and external parties to collate key business data.
•    Continual communication with our broker community. Managing brokers expectations on our pipeline of work and expected delivery dates.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
•    Although we usually ask you to have achieved at least 96 UCAS points to be eligible for this role, we appreciate the need to be flexible given the on-going pandemic and disruption to your school/ college life. If you’ve achieved a little under 96 UCAS points in the academic year 20/21, we would still encourage you to apply
•    You must be 18 years old by Monday 6th September to apply for the 2021 intake

Data Management Team (Infrastructure)
The Data Management team is a global resource providing Schroder’s client base a range of data services. The team is currently organised into four clear capabilities and organisational structures – pricing, instrument, index and client & portfolio. Services are provided directly to internal clients across Investment, Distribution and Infrastructure divisions within the firm.

The Index Data team is responsible for  the management of all Schroders index data.

What you’ll do
Some of the tasks and projects you’ll be involved in are:

  •  Day to day operational monitoring of Index production feed
    •    Set up new index feeds following requests from different Schroders business areas
    •    Liaise with external data vendors to ensure high service delivery
    •    Work closely with Schroders market data teams to track and report on the cost of index data ensuring it accurately reflects usage needs
    •    Liaise with internal business stakeholders to resolve any index data issues.
    •    Assist the team to help continually improve the index architecture and service
